Packing the house with hope

Frontline Worship Ministry Team inspires youth in Warm Srings

They sang, danced and proclaimed God’s love to a jam-packed Warm Srings Youth Center, but for the Frontline Worship Ministry Team, the good vibes didn’t fade when the spirited music did.

As they pulled out of town to finish up a nine month nationwide tour, the Arizona-based music and worship group quietly took in the few hours they had spent with hundreds of Native American kids.

“Our ministry team is mostly city kids who’d never been to a reservation,” says Frontline member Tiffany McCloud.  “Sitting on the bus as we drove away, no one really said anything.  We just sat back and savored sharing with kids the message of God’s love.”

The Frontline concert in late October kicked off a busy month at The Spechtrum in Warm Srings.  By mid-November, the youth center had staged its first dance, followed by an uproarious “Are You a Turkey?” event, featuring light-hearted competitions like Turkey Bowling.

Credit the Frontline Team with getting the good times rolling.  Youth Center Manager Anna Castile heard the group—comprised of 14 young adults—was passing through Oregon on a promotional tour for its upcoming CD, “The Interruption.”

“They performed their music and shared a powerful message of hope,” says Castile.  “They gathered the kids around them and said, ‘There is someone out there who loves you and believes in you.  You really can accomplish anything.’”  McCloud, who grew up near the reservation in Madras, Ore., says the impact was mutual.  She says the Frontline Ministry Team left inspired by what they witnessed in Warm Srings.

“To see what EXYP is doing there and how they’re reaching out to those kids on a daily basis, that’s what floored us the most.”
